Description of Heathcotes Sawley

Below is what Compare Care Homes knows about this care home provider. The words 'we', 'us' and 'our' do not necessarily refer to Compare Care Homes. Also, references to inspections are likely to relate to inspections by the care home regulator for this part of the UK.

Heathcotes Sawley is a specialist residential care home for adults with learning disabilities, complex needs and associated challenging behaviours. These may include:

  • Autism
  • Asperger’s Syndrome
  • Mental Health issues
  • Epilepsy
  • Down’s Syndrome
  • Communication and Sensory Difficulties
  • Physical Disabilities.

The home is a large, detached, two storey family home, that has been adapted by our specialist contractors to meet the needs of our service users, whilst retaining the look and feel of a genuine family home.

It is situated in Sawley, Derbyshire, a short walk from local shops, village pubs and other local amenities and convenient for leisure opportunities and supermarkets, including Sawley Marina. The home is on the outskirts of Sawley, a ten-minute drive from the M1 and a five-minute drive from Long Eaton. Local bus stops give easy access to surrounding towns and villages such as Sawley, Long Eaton, Draycott and Beeston.

This home has a lively atmosphere, with a strong focus on fun and interesting day activities; everyone is busy and meaningfully occupied. Our manager, Michael Ishemunyoro, sets very high standards in all aspects of the day to day running of the home, and that is reflected in the high quality care that is delivered.
