A Christmas coffee morning at a Burnham care home has raised money for a project to bring the cinema home to residents.
The event at Frith House raised more than £320 towards a projection system which will allow residents to enjoy ‘movie time’ and watch their old favourites on the big screen.
Manager Vicki Mitchell told the Weekly News: “It’s hard for them to visit the cinema so we thought we’d bring it to them.
“It’s something they’ve wanted for a while now and they all cheered when we announced we were going to raise funds for it.”
The home needs to raise £500 altogether and benefited from the coffee morning, which saw residents win raffle prize, bottles of wine and enjoy cakes made by volunteers.
Vicki added: “The also made Christmas decorations and are planning to have a party this weekend.”
