One of two remaining council-run care homes in Peterborough closed last week (Friday, November 30), with the loss of 53 jobs.
Greenwood House, in South Parade, closed its doors for a last time at 5pm, despite a hard-fought campaign to secure its future.
Its three remaining clients, who are receiving day and respite care, were moved to their alternative locations during the course of the day.
It was also the last day at the home for some 53 staff members, all of whom have taken voluntary redundancy.
The other council-run home Welland House, in Poplar Avenue, is due to close in March.
