Two residential homes in Bedford have been rated as two of the top BUPA care homes in the UK.

Puttenhoe and Highfield Residential Homes have been voted as the best care homes in the country by its residents, which Bupa says is “who matters most”.

In an independent survey, 100 per cent of residents rated the overall quality of care at both of the homes as excellent or very good, taking into account factors including the range of activities and events on offer.

As well as the way personal food choices are catered for, feedback on staff, and opinions of residents’ rooms, building and grounds.

Home manager at Puttenhoe Residential Home, Linda Cornfoot, said: “We are so pleased to receive such feedback and to hear that our residents are happy with the standards and level of care in the home.

“We have such a great team of dedicated, hard working staff here, who always try and go above and beyond, but at the end of the day, none of that would matter unless it’s making a difference to the people that count.”

Tracey Fletcher, Bupa’s customer service director, added: “Choosing the right care home is such an important decision, so this survey is a great way for the community to learn more about their local care home, and more importantly, hear the opinions of the residents who have made both Puttenhoe and Highfield their home.”

The survey was carried out in over 300 Bupa care homes across the UK.
